"Not That Smart" by Brion Riborn (c) Etymbiotic Music [ASCAP] I wish I was so fortunate to understand you Then I could close my eyes and die And floating to heaven I would surely recommend you To all other sinners passing by And I may not know just what I've done But I'm certainly not the only one So let's save ourselves some time and admit we're not that smart No Not that smart She moved to the city when she was just barely 18 She gave her her body and her smile She couldn't remember what I'd said before I left her So she just stayed sad for a while But she may not know just what she's done And she's certainly not the only one So let's save ourselves some pain and admit we're not that smart No Not that smart He was still living in the shadow of his father And forgetting to chase the light of day Then one day in his winter as the fire grew much dimmer He finally has the words to say And much too late did not know just what he'd done But he's certainly not the only one So let's save ourselves some pride and admit That we may not know just what we've done But we're certainly not the only ones So let's save ourselves some time and admit we're not that smart No Not that smart

about

Listen. I recorded this all on my phone a while ago, after I had to sell most of my studio equipment because, life (or at least that's what I tell myself). Leona thought I must be famous when she heard it (or at least that's what she tells me) and we formed Barelyon shortly after. So I figure even though it's pretty lofi and weird it can't be all that bad if it inspired the formation of Barelyon (at least that's what I'm telling you).

about

Brion Riborn Detroit, Michigan

Brion Riborn is a human of Germanic-Norse descent. He tries to create and direct good things. He tires of being referred to in the third person in bios. He thinks they are silly but understands why they exist. He hopes the music makes you feel something. He appreciates the time you take to listen. He doesn’t sleep much, except when he does. He knows his sense of humor isn’t for everyone. ... more
